Recent 'Webinars & Workshop' on

Interpretation, Meaning-making and Significance

Our group engaged in the recommended two Zoom webinars, adding on a third before the Zoom workshop. The observations of the group exceeded my expectations as they gave new and rich interpretations of the oral history we were examining.

Testimonials
"Through the initial oral history method workshop and subsequent webinar sessions revolving around Commodore Boyagoda's A Long Watch, I gained valuable insight into the diverse perspectives, both official and private, of witnesses to the Sri Lankan civil war and its legacy in contemporary, post-conflict society. By facilitating conversation about the sources that challenge neat, communal narratives, Gaya Fernando demonstrated the power of unpacking personal truths to achieve broader reconciliation about what 'really' happened during a time in which complex, individualized recollection may have been obfuscated by community-wide trauma and overwriting. I am now compelled to consider archives of memory at varying scales and apply this approach in alternative historical contexts."

"It was so good to have had the webinar sessions. I understood so much more at the workshop and it was a more intimate experience somehow. We had gone so deep with different observations in the group discussions"
